COMPRESSOR INLET TEMPERATURE SENSOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. The CIT sensor is installed in a port between the 3 and 6 o'clock struts (viewed forward) on the fan frame.
B. The coil points into the inlet airstream of the high pressure compressor (HPC), in front of the extension ring on the fan case.
C. For this procedure the Compressor Inlet Temperature (CIT) sensor will be referred to as the sensor.

D. Prepare to Remove the Sensor
S 864-002-C00
(1) Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(a) Set the BAT switch on the Electrical Meters Battery and Galley Power Module (P5-13) to the OFF position and install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(2) Open the right fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN AMM 78-31-00/201 TO OPEN THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

Open the right thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Remove the fan duct panel between the 5 and 6 o'clock struts (AMM 72-33-03/401).

Disconnect the drain lines, nuts and bolts from the sensor
(Fig. 401).
(a)
Disconnect the P6 drain line from the P6 fitting shroud.
(b)
Disconnect the PB drain line from the PB fitting shroud.
(c)
Turn the two shroud knurled nuts counterclockwise. 1) Move the shrouds aft off from the flanges.
(d)
Remove the 2 bolts that attach each threaded flange to the fan frame. 1) Move the flanges aft to get at the coupling nuts on the
fuel line.

CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE SLEEVES TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR
_______ FITTINGS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE PRECAUTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(6) Pull the 2 sleeves aft along the fuel lines until the sleeves fully disengage from the sensor fittings.
