CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU ATTACH THE POWER CABLE WITH TAPE TO THE
_______ ENGINE COWL, STRUT, WING AND FUSELAGE BETWEEN THE TWO ENGINES. THE POWER CABLE SHOULD BE ATTACHED AFT AND FAR FROM THE ENGINE INLET. INCORRECT ROUTING CAN CAUSE INGESTION OF THE CABLE OR THE TAPE INTO THE ENGINE WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUN.
(d) On the engine that is operated to supply electrical power, use tape, at locations that are 4-6 inches (100-150 mm) apart, to attach the cable to the surface as follows: 1) Attach the cable to the engine cowl and up to the engine
strut. 2) Attach the cable along the engine strut to the wing. 3) Attach the cable under the wing and fuselage to the
opposite side of airplane. 4) Continue to attach the cable with tape on the same route to the opposite engine.
(e)
Connect the female connector of the power cable to the J2
connector on the PMC of the engine you will do the test on.
(f)
On the engine you will do the test, remove the protective cap from the PMC connector J5.
(g)
On the engine you will do the test, connect the digital
voltmeter to the pins 10 (signal) and 23 (common) of the PMC
connector J5.
(h)
Start the opposite engine and let it become stable at the low idle position (AMM 71-00-00/201).

(3) On the engine on which you do the test, put the forward thrust lever in the fully forward position.
NOTE: This puts the PLA lever on the MEC at the

maximum forward thrust stop.
(a) The maximum forward thrust stop, POWER LEVER ANGLE, is given in TABLE 1 - PLA VOLTAGE CHECK VALUES.
NOTE: TABLE 1 is given as information because of the engine
____ intermix configurations and spare engine interchanges between operators.
(b) The maximum forward thrust stop is a function of airplane model and engine type.

(4) Measure and make a record of the PLA RVDT voltage.
(a) The voltage should be between the values given in
TABLE 1 - PLA VOLTAGE CHECK VALUES.

(5) If the voltages are not correct, do the procedure to adjust the PLA
transducer gain with the PMC tester.

(6) Put the forward thrust lever in the idle position.
NOTE:____ This step will permit you to get the part power position
voltage.

(7) Install the rig pin no. 3 in the hole with the mark 'P' on the fuel control box of the engine on which you do the test.
NOTE: This puts the thrust lever and the fuel control box at
____ 92.5° PLA.

Move the forward thrust lever on the engine on which you do the test until the PLA lever touches the rig pin.

Subtract the voltage measured at the part power thrust position from the voltage measured at the full forward thrust position.
