(9) ENGINES PRE-CFMI-SB 73-116 (ENGINES WITH FUEL DRAIN MANIFOLDS); Do a check of the fuel supply line to the fuel nozzles and the coupling nuts on the drain manifold for leakage as follows:
(a)
Leakage is not permitted.
(b)
If leakage occurs, do these steps: 1) Loosen the coupling nut. 2) Do a check on the nut ferrule and seat. 3) If you do not find the damage, do these steps again.
a) Apply leak-tek to the coupling nut at the fuel nozzle. b) Apply 15 psi (104 KPa) minimum dry air or nitrogen. c) Do a check at the fuel supply line to fuel nozzle and
at coupling nuts used to drain manifold for leakage.
(c)
If the leakage occurs again, install the the metal conical seal on the fuel nozzle fitting. 1) Apply leak-tek to the coupling nut at the fuel nozzle. 2) Apply 15 psi (104 KPa) minimum dry air or nitrogen. 3) Do a check at the fuel supply line to fuel nozzle and at
coupling nuts used to drain manifold for leakage.
(d)
If leakage occurs again, replace the fuel nozzle.
(e)
Make sure the fuel nozzle check valves are closed. 1) Pressurize and hold 10-15 psig (69-103 kPa gage) to the
manifold. 2) Turn off the dry air or nitrogen pressure supply. 3) Make sure the pressure does not decrease more than 5 psig
(34.5 kPa gage) in 3 minutes.
