E. Prepare to Remove the Fuel Pump Package

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the engine start lever is in the CUTOFF position.

Make sure the FUEL VALVE CLOSED (engine fuel shutoff valve) light on the fuel control panel (P5 overhead panel) is dim.
(a) Install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the applicable engine start lever.
NOTE: The position light for the engine fuel shutoff valve has
____
three positions:
-bright when the valve is in transition
-dim when the valve is closed - off when the valve is open.

(4) Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(a) Set the BAT switch on the Electrical Meters Battery and Galley Power Module (P5-13) to the OFF position and install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(5) Open the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).

WARNING: OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO OPEN THE THRUST

REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU OPEN
THE THRUST REVERSERS, INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(6) Open the thrust reverser (AMM 78-31-00/201).
F. Remove the Fuel Pump Package (Fig. 401)

(1) Disconnect these electrical connectors from the MEC
(Fig. 402, Sheet 1):
(a)
The VBV reset solenoid connector, D3012, is on the top side of the MEC.
(b)
The idle reset solenoid connector, D3016, is on the lower inboard side of the MEC.
(c)
Power lever angle (PLA) position connector (blue cable), is on the lower aft side of the MEC.
(d)
Put protective caps on the open ends of the electrical connectors.

(2) Disconnect the thrust lever angle (TLA) connector, D2876, at the
Control Box (Fig. 402, Sheet 2):
(a)
Disconnect the TLA connector, D2876, on the lower outboard side of the MEC.
(b)
Disconnect the connector, D2876, from the forward side of the connector bracket on the MEC.
(c)
Put protective caps on the open ends of the electrical connectors.
(d)
Remove the clamp that attaches the wire bundle to the MEC.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT REMOVE THE PLUG BRACKET FROM THE MEC. THE BRACKET IS ATTACHED WITH EPOXY-FILLED ALLEN SCREWS. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MEC IF YOU TRY TO REMOVE THE SCREWS.
(e)
Remove the two (non-epoxied) allen screws that attach the connector bracket (to the aft half of the connector, D2876) to the connector bracket plate on the MEC.

(3) Remove the fuel control box (AMM 76-11-08/401).
(a) Move the fuel control box and the throttle push-pull cables to the side.
