Engine speed is less than 45% N1 while above 46% N2 for either engine and these conditions occur: 1) The start switch is in the FLT position for either engine 2) The airplane is above 500 feet radio altitude.

The idle reset solenoid circuit is separate from the LOW IDLE light circuit and provides high and low engine idle. The solenoids, when energized, restrict idle fuel flow, with corresponding engine speed decrease. This is accomplished when the airplane is on the ground. The solenoids provide additional idle fuel flow during high idle in flight.
E. AIRCRAFT WITHOUT THE INDICATION CIRCUIT FOR THE 45% N1 ENGINE IDLE; Engine Idle Control System (Fig. 11)

Power for the engine idle control circuit is provided by the IDLE CONT and MASTER CAUTION circuit breakers located on the P6-2 circuit breaker panel (WDM 73-23-11). The indication system monitors engine fan speed (N1), thrust lever angle (TLA), start lever position and the state of the idle reset solenoids.
(2)
The LOW IDLE light is illuminated in the following cases:
(a)
Start lever is set to IDLE and respective engine speed (N1) is less than 25%
(b)
Either engine idle reset solenoid is energized and respective TLA is set to 9 1/2 degrees or less.
