Loosen the QAD bolt.

Do this tighten-hit procedure two more times.
NOTE: This step is necessary to make sure you install the QAD

ring in the correct center position.

Loosen the QAD bolt.
(u)
Tighten the bolt to 190-230 pound-inches (21-26 Newton meters). 1) Install the lockwire.
(v)
Measure the clearance between the boss of the QAD ring and the flange of the QAD ring support. 1) If the clearance is less than 0.25 inch (6.4 mm) or more
than 1.0 inch (25.4 mm), replace the QAD ring. 2) To remove the QAD, use a jacking block as a thrust plate.
(w)
Release the hoist or the crane from the sling.
(x)
Remove the ball-lock pin and the sling strap.
(y)
Remove the sling from the fuel pump package assembly.
(z)
Install the cover on the core rotation drive pad with the five bolts. 1) Tighten the bolts to 55-70 pound-inches
(6-8 Newton meters).

(10) Install the inlet line for the fuel supply as follows (Fig. 408):
(a)
Examine the gasket for damage.
(b)
Apply a thin layer of petrolatum on the gasket.
(c)
Install the gasket on the fuel inlet port of the fuel pump.
(d)
Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the threads of the four bolts.
(e)
Install the inlet line for the fuel supply on the fuel pump with the four bolts. 1) Tighten the bolts to 55-60 pound-inches
(6-7 Newton meters).
(f)
Use a 1-1/2 inch wrench.
1) Tighten the inlet line fitting for the fuel supply at the strut disconnect panel to 112-128 pound-feet (1340-1536 pound-inches) (151.4-173.8 Newton meters).

(11) Install the plumbing lines that follow on the outboard side of the MEC (Fig. 405):
NOTE: Apply a thin layer of engine oil on all the fuel line

fittings and the coupling nuts.
(a) Install the oil return (OIL-OUT) line between the servo fuel heater and the return hose of the oil tank as follows: 1) Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and are not
damaged. a) If it is necessary, clean the surfaces with MEK and wipe it dry.

2) Apply a thin layer of engine oil on the seal gasket.
3) Install the seal gasket to the OIL-OUT port of the servo fuel heater.
4) Put the oil return line in the correct position on the OIL-OUT port.
5) Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the threads of the four bolts that attach the oil return line to the servo fuel heater.
6) Install the bolts. a) Tighten to 55-60 pound-inches (6.2-6.8 Newton meters).
7) Connect the lower end of the oil return line to the connector for the oil tank return hose, which is below the MEC.
