_______ THESE CONFIGURATIONS ARE VISUALLY THE SAME, BUT ARE DIFFERENT IN DESIGN. DAMAGE TO THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING AND CARTRIDGE CAN OCCUR IF YOU MIX THE HARDWARE FROM THESE TWO CONFIGURATIONS.
 (2)  ENGINES POST CFMI SB 73-125 AND PRE CFMI SB 73-A129; (CONFIGURATION TWO); Do the steps that follow to install the fuel filter cartridge (Fig. 403):
 (a)  Soak the four new O-rings, (10), (60), (80), and (90), with engine fuel. Lightly lubricate the new O-rings with petrolatum lubricant (CP2102).
 NOTE: You can find the two smaller O-rings, (10) and (60),
____ at each end of the inner passage of the fuel filter cartridge (20).
 (b)  Install the new O-ring (90), in the groove of the fuel filter cover (50).

CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE FILTER COVER ON ITS AXIS AFTER YOU HAVE
_______ INSTALLED THE FUEL FILTER CARTRIDGE. THIS WILL DAMAGE THE O-RINGS ON THE FUEL FILTER CARTRIDGE.
 (c)  Install the new fuel filter cartridge (20), in the filter housing.
 NOTE: Make sure that the filter cartridge correctly
____ engages the guide at the bottom of the filter housing.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SPRING WASHER AND RETAINING RING ARE
_______ INSTALLED ON THE FILTER COVER. IF THE SPRING WASHER AND RETAINER RING ARE NOT INSTALLED, DAMAGE TO THE FILTER CARTRIDGE CAN OCCUR..
 (d)  Install the filter cover (50), on the filter cartridge (20), and carefully engage the filter cover with the filter housing.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FILTER COVER IS CORRECTLY ENGAGED WITH
_______ THE FILTER HOUSING. DAMAGE TO THE FILTER CARTRIDGE, COVER, AND HOUSING CAN OCCUR IF THE FILTER COVER IS NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
 CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE COVER BOLTS TO HELP ALIGN OR ENGAGE THE
_______ FILTER COVER WITH FILTER HOUSING. DAMAGE TO THE FILTER CARTRIDGE CAN OCCUR.
 (e)  
Before you install the cover bolts (100), make sure the filter cover (50), is correctly installed on the flange of the filter housing.

 (f)  
Apply graphite grease (CP2101) to the threads of the bolts (100), self-aligning nuts (120), and flat washers (110).

CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT HARDWARE FOR THE INSTALLED
 CONFIGURATION.  USE OF THE INCORRECT BOLTS, NUTS, AND
 WASHERS CAN DAMAGE THE UNIT.  GIVE SPECIAL ATTENTION TO
 THE SELF-ALIGNING NUT AND WASHER INSTALLATION.

 CAUTION: DO NOT MIX HARDWARE FROM CONFIGURATIONS TWO AND THREE ON
_______ THE SAME MAIN FUEL PUMP.
 (g)  With your hands, install the 6 bolts (100), 6 flat washers (110), 6 self-aligning washers (130), and 6 self-aligning nuts (120) (Fig. 405).
 NOTE: Initially, do not use tools to install the bolts,
____ washer, and nuts.
 (h)  Hand-tighten the bolts (100).
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE BOLTS TO THE CORRECT TORQUE
_______ RANGE. IF YOU DO NOT DO SO, SEVERE EXTERNAL FUEL LEAKAGE WILL OCCUR.
 (i)  
Tighten the bolts (100) to 70-80 pound-inches (8-9 Newton meters).

 (j)  
Loosen the 6 bolts (100) and re-tighten them to 70-80 pound-inches (8-9 Newton meters).

 (k)  
Lightly lubricate the drain plug (70) with engine fuel.

 (l)  
Put the new O-ring (80) on the drain plug (70), and install the O-ring and drain plug in the fuel filter cover (50).

 (m)  
Tighten the drain plug (70) to 45-55 pound-inches (5-6 Newton meters). Lockwire the drain plug in position.

 (n)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the start lever for the applicable engine.

 (o)  
Close the left fan cowl panel (AMM 71-11-02/201).
