 (12) Install the servo fuel heater on the main oil/fuel heat exchanger as follows:
 (a)  Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and are not damaged.
 WARNING: DO NOT GET METHYL ETHYL KETONE (MEK) IN YOUR MOUTH,
_______ OR EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM MEK. PUT ON A RESPIRATOR, PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES, AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE MEK. KEEP MEK AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. MEK IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 1)  If it is necessary, clean the surfaces with MEK and wipe it dry.
 (b)  
Apply a thin layer of engine oil on the seal gasket.

 (c)  
Install the seal gasket on the mounting surface of the heat
 exchanger for the main oil/fuel.


 NOTE:____You can use the seal gasket again. Examine the seal gasket for damage or embrittlement of the sealing surface. Replace the seal gasket if it is damaged.

 (d)  
Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the mounting studs.

 (e)  
Install the servo fuel heater on the heat exchanger of the main oil/fuel with the six washers and nuts.

 (f)  
Tighten the nuts to 95-105 pound-inches
 (10.7-11.9 Newton meters).

 (13) Install the plumbing lines that follow on the outboard side of the MEC (Fig. 404):
 NOTE: Apply a thin layer of engine oil on all fuel line fittings
____
 and coupling nuts.

 (a)  Install the oil return (OIL-OUT) line between the servo fuel
 heater and the return hose of the oil tank as follows:
 1) Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and are not

 damaged. 2) If it is necessary, clean the surfaces with MEK and wipe it
 dry. 3) Apply a thin layer of engine oil on the seal gasket. 4) Install the seal gasket to the OIL-OUT port on the servo
 fuel heater.
 5)  Put the oil return line in the correct position on the OIL-OUT port.
 6)  Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the threads of the four bolts that attach the oil return line to the servo fuel heater.

7)  Install the bolts. a) Tighten to 55-60 pound-inches (6.2-6.8 Newton meters).
 8)  Connect the lower end of the oil return line to the connector for the oil tank return hose, which is below the MEC.
 9)  Tighten the fitting to 900-1100 pound-inches (100-125
 Newton meters).

 10) Install the lockwire.
 (b) Connect the OIL-IN line between the servo fuel heater and the main oil scavenge filter as follows: 1) Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and are not damaged. 2) If it is necessary, clean the surfaces with MEK and wipe it dry. 3) Apply a thin layer of engine oil on the seal gasket. 4) Install the seal gasket on the OIL-IN port of the servo fuel heater. 5) Put the OIL-IN line in the correct position on the servo fuel heater port. 6) Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the threads of the four bolts that attach the OIL-IN line to the servo fuel heater. 7) Tighten the bolts to 55-60 pound-inches (6.2-6.8 Newton meters). 8) Tighten the bolts that attach the OIL-IN line to the main oil scavenge filter to 55-60 pound-inches (6.2-6.8 Newton meters). 9) Connect the clamps with the white bushings 1 and 2 to the bracket below the MEC. 10) Connect the clamps 3 and 4 that attach the oil return and the OIL-IN lines to the pressurizing valve on the bottom of the MEC.
 11) Tighten the clamp bolts to 100-110 pound-inches
 (11.5-12.5 Newton meters).

 (c)  
Install the FUEL-IN line.

 1)  Tighten the coupling nuts to 650-770 pound-inches
 (74-87 Newton meters).


 (d)  
Align the 90° elbow fitting with the upper overboard drain line.

 (e)  
Connect the drain line. 1) Tighten the elbow fitting to 270-300 pound-inches (30-34 Newton meters).

 2)  Tighten the coupling nut to 180-200 pound-inches
 (20-23 Newton meters).


 (f)  
Connect the floating clamps between the OIL-IN line and the upper overboard drain line.


 NOTE: You must use Fig. 404, detail A-A to install the clamps.
