 S 864-020-C00
 (1)  Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
 (a)  Set the BAT switch on the Electrical Meters Battery and Galley Power Module (P5-13) to the OFF position and install a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

 (2)  
Put the thrust levers in the IDLE position and attach DO-NOT-OPERATE tags.

 (3)  
Put the start levers in the CUTOFF position and attach
 DO-NOT-OPERATE tags.

 (4)  
Remove the covers from the control stand to get access to the switches (AMM 76-11-11/401).

Remove the approach idle switch.


 NOTE: The approach idle switch is identified by a placard S819.
____ The switch is the forward of the other switches.
 (a)  
Remove two screws and two washers.

 (b)  
Remove the switch, switch actuator, shield, and nutplate assembly from the chain guard.

 (c)  
Remove the wires from the switch.

 A.  Equipment

 S 424-026-C00
 (1)  Install the approach idle switch.
 (a)  
Install the wires to the switch.

 (b)  
Put the switch in the switch actuator and align the mounting holes.

 (c)  
Align the mounting holes of the switch and switch actuator with the mounting holes of the shield and the chain guard.

 (d)  
Install two screws with two washers through the switch and switch actuator, shield, and nutplate assembly and tighten.

 (2)  Adjust the switch.
 (a)  
Move the flap lever to the 10-unit detent.

 (b)  
Use a multimeter to do a check of the continuity at the switch wire connection. 1) There must be no continuity at the 10-unit detent.

 (c)  
Move the flap lever out and aft of the 10-unit detent approximately 0.25 inch.


 NOTE: This is approximately 2.5 - 3.5 degrees of lever travel.

 1) Do not move the flap lever to the next aft detent.
 (d)  
Use a multimeter to do a check of the continuity at the switch wire connection. 1) There must be continuity at the position aft of the 10-unit

 detent.

 (e)  
If it is necessary to adjust the switch, do these steps: 1) Loosen the upper switch screw. 2) Turn the switch up or down to adjust the contact point of


 the switch actuator on the cam which would close the
 switch. 3) Tighten the upper screw. 4) Do a check for continuity at the open and close position of
 the switch.

 (3)  
Install the covers on the control stand (AMM 76-11-11/401).

 (4)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags from the start levers and the thrust
 levers.
