Disconnect the compressor discharge pressure, PS3 (CDP port), line from the MEC.
(n)
Disconnect the clamp that attaches the PS3 line to the bracket below the MEC. 1) Move the line down and attach it to the lines removed
above.

Disconnect the bleed bias line for the compressor bias pressure (CBP) from the MEC. 1) Move the line down and attach it to the lines removed
above.
(p)
ENGINES WITHOUT THE HPTCC TIMER;
Disconnect the clamps that attach the TC1 and TC2 turbine
clearance control lines.
(q)
ENGINES WITH THE HPTCC TIMER; Disconnect the clamps that attach the TC1, TC2 and TC3 turbine clearance control lines.
(r)
Disconnect the TC1 line from the lower end of the flexible
hose.
(s)
Disconnect the TC2 line from the lower end of the flexible
hose.
(t)
ENGINES WITH THE HPTCC TIMER; Disconnect the TC3 line at the lower end of the flexible hose.

Disconnect these plumbing lines from the lower side of the MEC (Fig. 406):
(a)
The PS12 pneumatic line from the POC port.
(b)
The T2 (P7) fuel line.
(14)
Put the protective caps on all the open plumbing lines.

Remove the servo fuel heater to get access to the inboard mounting nuts of the MEC as follows:

(b)
Remove the six mounting nuts and washers that attach the servo fuel heater to the main oil/fuel heat exchanger.
(c)
Remove the servo fuel heater.
(d)
Remove the seal gasket from the mounting flange.
1) Examine the gasket for damage to the sealing surface.
2) Replace the gasket if it is damaged.
(e)
Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the ports on the servo fuel heater. 1) Install the protective caps.

(16) Do the steps that follow to remove the MEC from the fuel pump package:
(a)
Remove the heated servo supply (FUEL-OUT) line that goes from the servo fuel heater to the MEC.
(b)
Remove the six MEC mounting nuts and washers that attach the
MEC to the fuel pump.
NOTE: It is recommended that you remove the nuts at the 2 and

10 o'clock positions last.
1) Use the nut removal tool, 856A1469G02 or 856A1303G01, to remove the nuts that are difficult to reach.

CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE MEC. KEEP THE DRIVE SHAFT PERPENDICULAR TO THE SURFACE OF THE FUEL PUMP MOUNT. DO NOT USE THE DRIVE SHAFT TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE MEC. THE MEC WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 57 POUNDS (26 KG).
MOVE ALL THE PLUMBING LINES OR THE CABLES TO THE SIDE. USE YOUR HAND TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE MEC. MAKE SURE THAT THE THROTTLE LEVER, THE FUEL SHUTOFF LEVER, THE ELECTRICAL CABLES AND THE DISCONNECTED PLUMBING LINES ARE NOT SQUEEZED OR STRAINED. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THESE PARTS.
