6)  Do an insulation resistance check of these items on the MEC: a) The pin 4 and the connector case (10 megohms minimum) b) The pin 3 and the connector case (10 megohms minimum) c) The pins 3 and 4 (10 megohms minimum).
 7)  Do a continuity check of these items on the MEC:
 NOTE: To help locate a possible intermittent failure of
____ the RVDT, heat the RVDT by operating the engine at ground idle for a minimum of 5 minutes.
 a) The pins 4 and 5 (28 to 90 ohms) b) The pins 3 and 12 (14 to 180 ohms). 8) If the resistances are in the limits, replace the wiring harness of the control parameter (AMM 73-21-06/401). 9) If the resistances are not in the limits, replace the MEC (AMM 73-21-01/401).
 (b) Torque motor (TM) - resistance check of the winding
 1)  Do an insulation resistance check of these items on the wiring harness for the control parameter: a) The pin P3-21 and the cable shield (10 megohms minimum) b) The pin P3-21 and a ground (10 megohms minimum) c) The pin P3-22 and the cable shield (10 megohms minimum) d) The pin P3-22 and a ground (10 megohms minimum) e) The pins P3-22 and P3-23 (10 megohms minimum).
 2)  Do a continuity check of these items on the wiring harness of the control parameter: a) The pins P3-21 and P3-9 (less than 1 ohm) b) The pins P3-22 and P3-10 (less than 1 ohm) c) The pins P3-21 and P3-22 (15 to 25 ohms) d) The pins P3-21 and P3-10 (15 to 25 ohms) e) The pins P3-9 and P3-10 (15 to 25 ohms) f) The pins P3-22 and P3-9 (15 to 25 ohms).
 3)  If all of the checks are in the limits, this test is completed. a) Go the the next test (resistance check of the winding
 on the N2 control alternator).

4)  If one or more of the checks are not in the limits, continue with the torque motor check.
 5)  Do an insulation resistance check of these items on the MEC: a) The pin 2 and the connector case (10 megohms minimum) b) The pin 7 and the connector case (10 megohms minimum) c) The pin 8 and the connector case (10 megohms minimum) d) The pins 2 and 7 (10 megohms minimum).
 6)  Do a continuity check of these items on the MEC:
 a) The pins 7 and 9 (less than 1 ohm)
 b) The pins 8 and 10 (less than 1 ohm)
 c) The pins 7 and 8 (15 to 25 ohms)
 d) The pins 7 and 10 (15 to 25 ohms)
 e) The pins 9 and 10 (15 to 25 ohms)
 f) The pins 8 and 9 (15 to 25 ohms)
 g) The pins 2 and 7 (10 megohms minimum).

 7) If the resistances are in the limits, replace the wiring harness for the control alternator (AMM 73-21-06/401). 8) If the resistance are not in the limits, replace the MEC (AMM 73-21-01/401).
 (c)  N2 control alternator - resistance check of the winding 1) Disconnect the cable for the N2 control alternator from the P2 PMC port.
 2)  Do an insulation resistance check of these items on the cable for the N2 control alternator: a) The pin P2-1 and the cable shield (10 megohms minimum) b) The pin P2-1 and a ground (10 megohms minimum)
 3)  Do a continuity check of these items on the cable for the control alternator: a) The pins P2-1 and P2-2 (2.8 to 3.6 ohms).
 4)  If all of the checks are in the limits, this test is completed. a) Go to the next test (resistance check of the N1 speed
 sensor). 5) If the checks are not in the limits, continue with the check of the N2 control alternator.

 7)  Do an insulation resistance check of these items on the N2 control alternator: a) The Pin 1 on the PMC connector and the connector case
