(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open:
(a) P6-2 Load Control Center
1) ENGINES MASTER CAUTION
2) TACH IND ENG 1 N2
3) TACH IND ENG 2 N2
4) ENGINES TRIM

Remove the pad cover for N2 rotor rotation (AMM 72-00-00/201) from the gearbox.

(3)
Put a 3/4 inch square drive wrench into the 3/4 inch drive
receptacle in the gearbox to lock the N2 drive.
(4)
Install the rotor on the gearshaft.

NOTE: Point the large diameter end of the rotor aft.

Lightly lubricate the threads on the end of the gearshaft with grease after you install the rotor.
(6)
Put the nut on the end of the gearshaft.

(7) Slowly turn the nut.
NOTE: The self-locking insert will engage the threads and the nut

will touch the end face of the rotor.

Tighten the nut to 275-300 pound-inches (31-34 Newton meters).

Put a light layer of petrolatum on a new o-ring.

Install the o-ring on the aft side of the control alternator housing.

Put the control alternator housing on the gearbox pad.
NOTE: Install the housing carefully to prevent damage to the

o-ring.

(12) Install the three mounting bolts for the housing.
NOTE: Lightly lubricate the bolt threads with grease.

Tighten the bolts to 95-110 pound-inches (11-12.7 Newton meters).

Remove the caps from the connectors.

Attach electrical cables to the connectors.

Remove the wrench from the pad.

Put the pad cover in position and push the small shaft into the gearbox to disengage the internal splines.

NOTE: Hold the pad cover in position until the bolts are installed.
