(a) Put preventative oil (CP2850) into the PCR port.
NOTE: The PCR port is on the top surface of the MEC.

Put preventative oil (CP2850) into the fuel inlet.
(c)
Put preventative oil (CP2850) into the bypass ports.
NOTE: The bypass ports are on the forward (fuel pump) surface

of the MEC.
(d) Drain the preventative oil (CP2850) from the MEC.

FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General
_______
A. The fuel distribution system supplies filtered, pressurized fuel to the fuel nozzles in the combustion section. The system consists of an engine driven fuel pump, fuel filter, servo fuel heater, fuel/oil heat exchanger, fuel plumbing, fuel manifold and fuel nozzles (Fig. 1 and 2).
2. Fuel Pump (Fig. 1)

A. The fuel pump is located on the accessory gearbox (AGB) aft face between the horizontal drive shaft housing and the lubrication unit at the 8 o'clock position. The fuel pump pressurizes and circulates fuel within the fuel system.
3. Fuel Filter (Fig. 2)

A. The fuel filter is located within the lower section of the fuel pump and its corrugated construction is designed to retain foreign particles suspended in the fuel, and prevent their entry into the MEC.
4. Servo Fuel Heater (Fig. 3)

A. The servo fuel heater is attached to the aft side of the fuel/oil heat exchanger, located between the transfer gearbox and MEC. The servo fuel heater raises the fuel temperature to prevent ice from entering the control servos inside the MEC.
5. Fuel Plumbing

A. The fuel plumbing provides the plumbing necessary to transfer the fuel from the main engine control (MEC) to the core of the engine, then aft along the bottom of the core to the fuel manifold.
6. Fuel Manifold
_____________
A. The fuel manifold is composed of 2 halves with a 3-piece drain manifold. The drain manifold has 15 integral and 5 removable drain tubes and is connected to each fuel nozzle. The 5 removable drain tubes are to facilitate borescoping.
B. The fuel manifold is connected to a Y-shaped supply tube at approximately the 5 and 6 o'clock positions. Each connection of the Y has an individual drain tube that is secured to the fuel manifold by bolts.
C. Each manifold half incorporates 10 fuel nozzle connections. The complete fuel manifold supplies fuel to 20 fuel nozzles.
7. Fuel Nozzle (Fig. 4)

A. Fuel nozzles are installed into the combustion case at 20 locations. Each nozzle is connected to a fuel manifold and drain manifold. The fuel nozzles are numerically identified clockwise beginning just right of 12 o'clock position (looking forward).
