Remove the four bolts that attach the inlet line for the fuel supply to the top of the fuel pump (Fig. 408).

Remove the gasket from the fuel inlet port on the fuel pump.
(a) Discard the gasket if it is damaged.

Remove and do an inspection of the fuel filter (AMM 73-11-02/401, AMM 73-11-02/601).

Put protective caps on all the open plumbing lines.

Install the fuel pump and MEC Removal/Installation sling as follows (Fig. 409):
(a) Use the ball-lock pin to attach the sling to the handle of the
fuel filter cover.
(b) Use the sling strap to attach the sling to the main oil/fuel
heat exchanger and the servo fuel heater.
(c) Install the strut mounted hoist.
NOTE:____ You can also use a crane to lift the fuel pump package.

(19) Remove the fuel pump package as an assembly as follows (Fig. 410):
(a)
Remove the lockwire.
(b)
Remove the quick attach/detach (QAD) bolt.
(c)
Install the QAD bolt through the QAD ring in the opposite direction.
NOTE: Keep the ball seat washer for the installation
____ procedure.
