(f)  Set the AUTO/MANUAL switch to the applicable position.
 NOTE: The AUTO mode will automatically go through the full
____ sequence of the PMC and sensor tests and give you the results as a PASS or FAIL. This data is given at the end of the tests and is shown on the PASS or FAIL lights.
 The MANUAL mode will do a specified test only. It will show a PASS until a failure occurs, when it will stop the test. This data is also shown on the PASS or FAIL lights. To do the same test again or do a different test, you must push the STOP key.

 (2)  Do these steps to do the test of the PMC and the related components:
 (a)  Push the POWER ON switch on the PMC power supply and the PMC
 tester unit.

 NOTE: When you turn the PMC tester on, the tester
____ automatically does a self-test. If a fault is shown, turn the power switch off and on again. If the fault is shown again, refer to the tester's technical manual for the troubleshooting procedure.
 (b)  
Get the outside ambient temperature (OAT) from a thermometer in the engine inlet.

 (c)  
Put the temperature in the PMC tester unit and push the TEMP or STRT switch.


 NOTE: For the ENGLISH mode, you must use °F; for the
____ METRIC mode, you must use °C. For the ENGLISH mode, you must put the temperature in as whole numbers. The temperature range is -30°F to 135°F (-37°C to 57°C).
 If during the test sequence it is necessary to look at or change the ambient temperature in the PMC tester, push the TEMP switch. This will temporarily stop the test sequence. When the new temperature is put in the tester (you can put the new temperature in as a number, or use the + or - switches), the old temperature will be erased. When you push the TEMP switch, the new temperature will be used in the system and the test sequence will continue.
 (d)  
Use the pressure controller to apply 14.0|0.5 psia
 (96.53|3.44 kPa) to the PMC.


 (e)  
Push the STRT switch to continue.

(f)  Put the pressure in the PMC tester unit and push the PRES or STRT switch.
 NOTE: For the ENGLISH mode, you must use inches Hg; for
____ the METRIC mode, you must use millibars (mb). One number after the decimal point is permitted. The pressure range is 0-40.0 in Hg <0-1300.0 mb).
 If during the test sequence it is necessary to look at or change the pressure in the PMC tester, push the PRES switch. This will temporarily stop the test sequence. When the new pressure is put in the tester (you can put the new pressure in as a number, or use the + or -switches), the old pressure will be erased. When you push the PRES switch, the new pressure will be used in the system and the test sequence will continue.
 (g)  Do these steps to do tests 1 through 23 (Fig. 505):
 1)  AUTO MODE
 a) Push the STRT key to start the test.

 NOTE: Use the MANUAL mode to do one test at a time.
____
 b)  If all the tests are satisfactory, the green PASS light will come on and the message, ALL TESTS PASSED, will show on the display.
 c)  If one or more of the tests are not satisfactory, the red FAIL light will come on and the message, FAIL, will be shown on the display.
 d) The test number of the failure will also display. e) See Fig. 505 for the test numbers and descriptions. 2) MANUAL MODE a) Put the test number in the tester and push the STRT switch.
 b)  If the test is satisfactory, the green PASS light will come on and the test value will be shown on the display.
