(b)  
Discard the cotter pin from the rod end bearing.

 (c)  
Remove the nut, the bolt and the washer.


 CAUTION: YOU MUST RETRACT THE CABLE INNER MEMBER BEFORE YOU REMOVE
_______ THE SUPPORT TUBE ASSEMBLY. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE EXPOSED INNER MEMBER.
 (d)  Move the cable inner member to the fully retracted position at the MEC end.
 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TWIST THE FEEDBACK CABLE. USE TWO WRENCHES WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE NOSE CAP, ONE ON THE NOSE CAP AND ONE ON
 THE CONDUIT CAP.  THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE
 HARDWARE.
 (e)  Loosen the nose cap.
 NOTE:____ Do not disconnect the nose cap and the conduit cap.
 (f)  Carefully move the conduit cap away from the MEC slotted
 bracket.

 CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COUPLING NUTS FOR THE FUEL
_______ SUPPLY LINE, ONE TO HOLD THE FITTING AND ONE TO LOOSEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
 (10) Drain the fuel from the fuel lines, the fuel pump and the MEC as follows (Fig. 404):
 (a)  Put a container below the MEC to catch the fuel.
 NOTE: The quantity of fuel that will drain is approximately
____ 1.0 gallons.
 (b)  
Remove the drain plug for the fuel filter. 1) Let the fuel drain into the container.

 (c)  
Remove and discard the O-ring from the drain plug.

 (d)  
Loosen the fuel inlet line at the strut disconnect panel sufficiently to let the air enter the fuel inlet line.


 NOTE: Put a funnel or a container below the inlet line
____ connection of the fuel supply. Do not let the fuel spill on the fan case.
 (e)  
Lubricate a new O-ring with the petrolatum.

 (f)  
Install the new O-ring on the drain plug.

 (g)  
Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the threads of the drain plug.

(h)  Install the drain plug.
 1) Tighten the drain plug to 45-55 pound-inches

 (5.1-6.2 Newton meters).
 2) Install the lockwire.
