Set the range on the digital voltmeter to 0-10 VDC.

Start the opposite engine (which is to supply power) and allow it to operate at the low idle position (AMM 71-00-00/201).
NOTE: Low idle is sufficient to supply the power to the PMC of

the other engine.

Measure and make a record of the PLA RVDT voltage.

Make sure the voltage is between the values shown in TABLE 1 - PLA VOLTAGE CHECK VALUES.
(a) This voltage is a function of airplane model and engine type.

(13) If the voltage is not in the limit, adjust the PLA transducer gain as follows:
(a)
Make sure that the MEC power lever stays against the maximum allowable thrust stop.
(b)
Keep the thrust lever in this position.
(c)
Loosen the two screws that attach the adjustment well cover on the PMC. 1) Use a 7/64 inch (2.8 mm) hex wrench. 2) Move the cover in the counterclockwise direction.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE SLOTTED SCREW HEAD. DO NOT ADJUST THE NLR ADJUSTMENT. YOU CAN DAMAGE THE PMC.
(d)
Turn the PLA adjustment screw until the voltage on the digital voltmeter agrees with the values in TABLE 2 - PLA VOLTAGE SET VALUES.
NOTE: Use a 1/8 inch Allen wrench.

(e)
Move the well cover in a clockwise direction until it is in its original position.
(f)
Tighten the 2 screws to 8-10 pound-inches
(0.9-1.1 Newton meters).
1) Install a lockwire.

(14) Shut down the opposite engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).

(15) Do these steps to put the fuel control box back to its usual condition:
(a)
Move the forward thrust lever back to the idle position.
(b)
Install the aft cover on the fuel control box with the bolts and the washers (AMM 76-11-08/401).

Remove the power cable and tape from between the two engines.

Remove the digital voltmeter from the PMC J5 connector.

G. Differential Voltage Check of the PLA RVDT of the MEC

the troubleshooting procedures.

(1) For Differential Voltage Checks with the PMC Tester, do these steps to install the test equipment:
(a)
Open the right fan cowl panel on the engine on which you will do the test (AMM 71-11-02/201).
(b)
Remove the electrical plug from the electrical connector J2 (Fig. 501).
(c)
Remove the protective cap from the electrical connector J5 on the PMC.
(d)
Connect the power unit for the PMC tester to the PMC connectors J2 and J5 (Fig. 502).

(2) For Differential Voltage Checks with the Power Cable and the Digital Voltmeter, do these steps to install the test equipment:
(a)
Open the right fan cowl panels on the two engines (AMM 71-11-02/201).
(b)
Remove the electrical plugs from the J2 connector on the PMCs of the two engines (Fig. 501).
(c)
On the engine that is operated to supply the electrical power, connect the male electrical connector of the power cable to the J2 electrical connector.
