Remove and discard the O-ring from the drain plug.
(d)
Loosen the fuel inlet line at the strut disconnect panel
sufficiently to let the air enter the fuel inlet line.
NOTE: Put a funnel or a container below the line connection of
____ the fuel inlet. Do not let the fuel fall on the fan case.
(e)
Lubricate a new O-ring with the petrolatum.
(f)
Install the new O-ring on the drain plug.
(g)
Apply a thin layer of graphite grease on the threads of the
drain plug.
(h)
Install the drain plug.
1) Tighten the drain plug to 45-55 pound-inches
(5.1-6.2 Newton meters).

2) Install a lockwire. S 034-018-C00
CAUTION:_______ USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE TUBE COUPLING NUTS, ONE TO HOLD THE
FITTING AND ONE TO LOOSEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT
DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
(10) Remove the plumbing lines from the outboard side of the MEC that follows (Fig. 405, Sheet 1):
(a)
Disconnect the fuel outlet line at the MEC DISCHARGE port.
(b)
Remove the clamp block for the drain line installed below the MEC.
(c)
Loosen the clamp blocks downstream of the MEC.
(d)
Disconnect the drain line for the main oil/fuel heat exchanger.
1) Move the drain line forward and attach it to the accessory gearbox (AGB).
(e)
Disconnect the lower overboard drain line from the 45° elbow fitting below the MEC fuel control box. 1) Move the drain line down and forward and attach it to the
line you removed above.
(f)
Disconnect the drain line for the starter case.
1) Move the drain line down and attach it to the lines you removed above.
(g)
Disconnect the floating clamps from the upper overboard drain line and the OIL-IN line. 1) Do not remove the clamps.
(h)
Disconnect the upper overboard drain line from the 90° elbow fitting on top of the MEC and behind the servo fuel heater. 1) Move the drain line down and forward and attach it to the
lines you removed above.
(i)
Remove the OIL-IN line that goes from the main oil scavenge filter to the servo fuel heater (outboard side) (Fig. 405, Sheet 2). 1) Disconnect the clamps 1 and 2 from the bracket behind the
MEC.
