(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the rudder position transmitter.
(b)
Loosen the screws on the support bracket and crank.
(c)
Remove the rudder position transmitter from the airplane.

B. Procedure

(1) Install the rudder position transmitter:
(a)
Make sure the adjustable control rod is set to 10.59 inches.
(b)
Install the rudder position transmitter in the support bracket and crank.
(c)
Align the rudder position transmitter in the support bracket as shown in views A-A and B-B.
(d)
Tighten the screws.
(e)
Install the electrical connector on the rudder position transmitter.
C. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Do this task: "Rudder Hydraulic System A and B Depressurization (Ref 27-21-00/201).
(2)
Close the access panels.
(3)
Do this task: Rudder Position Transmitter Test (AMM 31-24-41/501).

A. Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
One of these portable testers which can select SUBFRAMES and WORDS to show the data for the flight data recorder. The Teledyne tester 2222786 or the AlliedSignal tester 981-6301-002 can be used on airplanes installed with FDR that records up to ]4 wps. Use the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 on airplanes installed with FDRs that record up to 128 wps. Use the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 Mod E on airplanes installed with FRD that records up to 256 wps.
