Pull the control column aft until the stabilizer trim operates (AMM 27-41-00/501).
(f)
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester comes on.
(g)
Put the control column in the neutral position.
(h)
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester goes out.
(i)
Push the control column forward until the stabilizer trim operates.
(j)
Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester comes on.
(k)
Put the control column in the neutral position.
(l)
Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester goes out.

Make sure you did the Prepare For Input Parameter Test task.

Do this test of the signals from the stab trim switch:
(a)
Set the portable tester to SUBRAME 0, WORD 8.
(b)
Make sure the trim switches on the control wheel are in the neutral position.
(c)
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester is off.
(d)
Set the trim switch on the captain's control wheel to the TRIM NOSE UP position.
(e)
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester is on.
(f)
Set the trim switch on the captain's control wheel to the neutral position.
(g)
Make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester goes out.
(h)
Set the trim switch on the captain's control wheel to the TRIM NOSE DN position.
(i)
Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester is on.
(j)
Set the trim switch on the captain's control wheel to the neutral position.
(k)
Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester goes out.
