Install the cables (Fig. 401).
(a)
Install cable C between the sensor quadrant on the upper surface of the elevator forward quadrant shaft and the sensor pulley drum.
(b)
With the cable terminals attached to the quadrant and pulley drum, attach the cable terminals with the cotter pins (Fig. 402).
(c)
Attach the ball terminal end of cable A to the lower quadrant on the elevator forward quadrant shaft.
(d)
Attach the ball terminal end of cable B to the pully drum on the sensor.
(e)
Connect the spring between the loose end terminals of cables B and A.
(f)
Lubricate the cables with grease for the full length of travel on the drum and quadrant.
(g)
Loosen the mounting bolts on the sensor support bracket.
(h)
Move the bracket in the slots on the right angle bracket to align the cables.
(i)
AIRPLANES WITHOUT SERVICE LETTER 737-SL-27-089-A; Make sure the dimension across the spring between the cable terminals is 2.09 |0.02 inches (Fig. 401).
(j)
AIRPLANES WITH SERVICE LETTER 737-SL-27-089-A; Make sure the dimension across the spring between the cable terminals is 2.03 |0.02 inches (Fig. 401).
(k)
Remove the laminations from the laminated shim to get the correct dimension.
(10)
Hold the cable drum and turn the sensor until the mark on the shaft aligns with the mark on the sensor.
(8) S 434-019Tighten the four bolts on the sensor support bracket.
(9) S 034-020Loosen the two sensor clamp screws.

NOTE: No special position of the aligned marks is necessary.

Tighten the clamp screws to 30-35 lb-in.

Install the electrical connector on the sensor.
