Install the flight data recorder (AMM 20-10-07/201).

Make sure an underwater locator beacon is on the serviceable flight data recorder.
(a) If the underwater locator beacon is not on the flight data recorder, then install the underwater locator beacon (AMM 31-24-09/201).

(3) Close these circuit breakers:
(a) P18-2 Panel
1) FLIGHT RECORDER AC
2) FLIGHT RECORDER DC

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(5)
Do this test of the flight data recorder:
(a)
Make sure the flight data recorder OFF light is on.
(b)
Put the TEST--NORMAL switch to the TEST position.
(c)
Make sure the flight recorder OFF light goes out.
(d)
Put the TEST--NORMAL switch in the NORMAL position.
(e)
Make sure the flight recorder OFF light comes on.

(6) Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM
24-22-00/201).

FLIGHT RECORDER TEST MODULE - REMOVAL/INSTALLAION

A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the flight recorder and mach airspeed warning test module (test module).
B. The test module is on the aft overhead panel P5.
C. You must do a test of the flight data recorder system and the mach airspeed warning system after you install the test module.

(1) Open these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-1 Panel
1) MACH WARN SYS-2
(b)
P18-2 panel
1) MACH WARN SYS-1
2) FLIGHT RECORDER AC
3) FLIGHT RECORDER DC

(2)
Loosen the four quick-release screws on the test module.

(3)
Pull the test module out of the aft overhead panel, P5.
S 034-005
(4)
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the test module.
