Make sure you did the Prepare For Input Parameter Test task.

Do this test of the signals from the alternate flaps.
(a)
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 15.
(b)
Make sure the MASTER ARMING switch for the alternate flaps is in the OFF position.
(c)
Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester is off.
(d)
Put the MASTER ARMING switch for the alternate flaps in the ARMED position.
(e)
Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester is on.
(f)
Put the MASTER ARMING switch in the OFF position.

(3) Make sure all the HF transceivers (if installed) are serviceable (AMM 23-11-00/501 or AMM 23-11-01/501).

(4) Tune all the tranceivers to approved frequencies.

(5) Do a test of the VHF-1 signals (if installed) (a) Set the captain's audio selector panel to VHF-1. (b) Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 11. (c) Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester comes on. (d) Push the captain's PTT button. (e) Make sure the BIT 1 light on the portable tester goes out.
