(1)
Make sure the speed brake handle is in the DOWN position.

Install the sensor (Fig. 401):
(a)
Put the sensor shaft through the hole in the mounting bracket.
(b)
Put the jamnut on the sensor bushing.
(c)
Tighten the jamnut to hold the sensor in its position.
(d)
Make sure you can turn the sensor.

(3) Attach the crank arm (Fig. 401):
(a)
Put the crank arm on the sensor shaft.
(b)
Align the set screw on the crank arm with the flat part of the sensor shaft.
(c)
Tighten the set screw to 1-3 pound-inches.

(4) Use the screws and the color identification to install the wires on the sensor terminals.

A. This procedure has one task. This task is the test of the speed brake handle position sensor.

A. Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
One of these portable testers which can select SUBFRAMES and WORDS to show the data for the flight data recorder. The Teledyne tester 2222786 or the Allied Signal 981-6301-002 can be used on airplanes installed with a flight data recorder (FDR) that records up to 64 wps. Use the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 on airplanes installed with FDR that records up to 128 wps. Use the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 Mod E on airplanes installed with FDR that records up to 256 wps.
