(a)
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME, 0 WORD 9.
(b)
Make sure the BIT 2 light is OFF.
(c)
Push the EVENT button on the trip and date encoder.

Make sure you did the Prepare for Input Parameter Test task.

Do this test of the signals from the trip and date encoder.
(a)
Make sure the light on the trip and date encoder is off.
(b)
Push the REPEAT button until the light comes on and stays on.
(c)
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 9.
(d)
During the encoding cycle, make sure the BIT 2 light on the portable tester comes on and goes off several times.
(e)
Make sure that after approximately 16 (|2) minutes the trip and date encoder stops, the light on the encoder goes out and the BIT 2 light on the portable tester goes out.

Put the IRS MODE SELECT switches on the P5 aft overhead panel to the NAV position.
(b)
Put and hold the DSPL SEL switch in the TEST position.
(c)
Put the SYS DSPL switch to the R position.

Put the COMPASS TRANSFER switch to the NORMAL position.
(e)
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 3.
(f)
Make sure the portable tester display is 0162 to 0235.
(g)
Put the compass transfer switch to the BOTH-ON-1 position.
(h)
Put the SYS DSPL switch to the L position.
(i)
Set the portable tester to SUBFRAME 0, WORD 3.
