Remove the switch:
(a)
Tag the wires that go to the switch.
(b)
Disconnect the electrical wires from the applicable switch.
NOTE: If it is not easy to remove the wires, you can remove
____ the switch bracket assembly. This procedure is given below.
(c)
Make a mark of the position of the switch in the switch bracket.
(d)
Remove the screws that attach the switch to the switch bracket.
(e)
Remove the switch from the switch bracket.

(7) Remove the switch bracket assembly, if it is necessary:
NOTE: The wires that go to the switch bracket have a limited
____ installation loop. This permits the bracket with the switch and the wires attached to be pulled through the side of the control stand.
(a)
Make a mark of the position of the lower attachment screw found in the slot at the bottom of the bracket assembly.
(b)
Remove this screw and the upper attachment screw (Fig. 401).
(c)
Disengage the switch bracket assembly from the cam follower.
(d)
Carefully pull the switch bracket assembly through the access panel in the side of the control stand.

Protractor Adapter (Thrust Lever) - F72952-15

Test Cable - made from one MS24266R16B24S6 plug (to mate with D5158J) and one MS24466R16B24S8 plug (to mate with D5150J) connected by 5-foot lengths of No. 20 A.W.G. wire. Connect the wires pin-to-pin.

(1) Install the switch bracket assembly, if it is necessary:
NOTE: If it was not necessary to remove the switch bracket with the switch, the switch bracket installation is not necessary.
(a)
Put the bracket assembly with wires connected in its position in the control stand.
(b)
Install the upper and the lower screws.
1) Make sure you align the lower screw of the switch bracket with the mark you made on the bracket slot.

(2) Install the switch:
(a)
Put the switch in the position of the mark on the bracket assembly.
(b)
Attach the switch with the screws.
(c)
Attach the wires to the switch.
(d)
Tighten the screws.

(3) Adjust the switch.
NOTE:____Before you adjust the switch, do this task: "Engine Control Systems Test" (Ref 76-11-00/501).
If you replace the bracket assembly do this task: "Thrust
Reverser Arm and Stow Switches" (Ref 78-34-05/201).
(a)
Move the thrust levers to the idle position.
(b)
Put the protractor with the adapter on the applicable thrust lever.
(c)
Set the protractor to zero degrees.
(d)
Put an ohmmeter across the C and the NO terminals of the switch.
NOTE: The ohmmeter can be connected to the D5158J receptacle
