Remove the transmitter:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the transmitter.
(b)
Loosen the screws on the collar.
(c)
Remove the transmitter from the airplane.

C. Install the Elevator Position Transmitter
(1) S 424-025Install the transmitter: (a) Set the transmitter in the collar. (b) Align the zero reference index marks on the transmitter housing and shaft until the index is in a vertical position pointed down. (c) Install the transmitter with two screws. (d) Tighten the two screws by hand.
(2) S 864-032Remove the hydraulic power (AMM 27-31-00/201).
(3) S 414-033Close access doors and access panels.
(4) S 864-034Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: (a) P18-2 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) POS SENSOR
(5) S 734-036Do this task: Elevator Position Transmitter Test (AMM 31-24-51/501).

A. This procedure has one task. The task is to adjust the elevator position transmitter.

A. Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
One of these portable testers which can select SUBFRAMES and WORDS to show the data for the flight data recorder. Use the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 or the Allied Signal 981-6301-002 with flight data recorder that records at 64 wps. The Teledyne tester 2229738-1 is applicable to FDRs that record up to 128 wps and the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 Mod E is applicable to FDRs that record up to 256 wps.
