Push and hold the PUSH TO TEST button.
(c)
Put the test set probe on the ULB water switch. 1) Make sure a green LED shows. 2) Make sure you can hear sounds from the test set. 3) Make sure the amber LED flashes.
(d)
Release the PUSH TO TEST button.
(e)
Remove the test set.

Make sure the water switch on the ULB has no grease or dirt.

If necessary, do the steps that follows:
(a)
Clean the water switch with water and detergent.
(b)
Dry the switch with a clean cloth.

(1) Do these steps to install the underwater locator beacon (ULB) to the AlliedSignal flight data recorder:
(a)
Make sure the water switch end of the ULB has no grease or dirt. 1) Clean the water switch on the ULB with a weak detergent.
(b)
Put the ULB into its bracket.
(c)
Install the clamp on the end of the ULB with the two screws.
(d)
Make sure you can read the replacement date on the ULB.
(e)
Tighten the four screws.

(2) Close the ceiling panel (AMM 25-21-71/401) in the aft passenger ceiling.

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the flight data recorder.
B. The flight data recorder is above the aft lowered ceiling panel No. 2 in the passenger compartment.

(a) P18-2 Panel
1) FLIGHT RECORDER AC
2) FLIGHT RECORDER DC

Open the aft lowered ceiling panel No. 2 (AMM 25-21-71/401).
(3)
Remove the flight data recorder (AMM 20-10-07/201).
