 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure has three tasks. The tasks are a removal, an installation, and a test of the landing warning switch (S138) operated by the flaps.
 B.  The flap landing warning switch and flap limit switches are on the flap control unit in the right wheel well (Fig. 401).
 C.  The flap-up limit switch is part of the flap control system. This switch supplies an input to the warning system as an auxiliary function. The removal/installation procedure for this switch is included in Chapter 27, Flight Controls.

 2.  Flap Landing Warning Switch Removal

 A.  Equipment and Materials
 (1)  
Gear Ground Lockpin - F72735

 (2)  
Flap Drum Checknut Wrench - 65-22958-1
 or F80197-1 or -5 Wrench Set

 

 B.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 217 Right Main Wheel Well

 C.  Procedure
 S 214-001
 (1)  
Make sure you installed all the gear ground lockpins.

 S 864-002

 (2)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:


 (a)  P6 Load Control Center - Right
 1) AURAL WARN
 2) LIGHTS
 3) GEAR SWITCH & ANTI-SKID TEST

 S 024-003
 (3)  Remove the switch (Fig 401):
 (a)  
Remove the four nuts which hold the switch cover to the flap control unit.

 (b)  
Use the checknut wrench to remove the inner checknut from the switch.


 NOTE: Loosen the outer nut and push the switch in for easier
____ access to the inner checknut.

 (c)  
Remove the switch from the flap control unit.

 (d)  
Remove the switch electrical wires from the wire bundle.

 (e)  
Disconnect the electrical connector.

 (f)  
Remove the contact-pins from in the connector.

 3.  Flap Landing Warning Switch Installation________________________________________
 A. Equipment and Materials
 (1)  Flap Drum Checknut Wrench - 65-22958-1
 or F80197-1 or -5 Wrench Set

 B. Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 217 Right Main Wheel Well

 C. Procedure
 S 424-005
 (1)  Install the switch (Fig 401):
 (a)  
Put the switch in its position in the flap control unit.

 (b)  
Use the checknut wrench and install the inner checknut.

 (c)  
Temporarily adjust the switch away from the actuator cam to prevent damage to the switch.

 (d)  
Put the electrical wires from the switch in the wire bundle.

 (e)  
Attach the switch wires to the wire bundle.

 (f)  
Cut the switch wires to the correct length.

 (g)  
Put the contact-pins on the ends of the wires.

 (h)  
Put the contact-pins in the connector.
