3. Aileron Position Transmitter Installation (Fig. 401)_________________________________________

B. Procedure

(1) Install the aileron position transmitter:
(a)
Make sure that the adjustable control rod is set at 13.35 inches.
(b)
Install the aileron position transmitter in the support bracket and crank.
(c)
Align the EZ marks on the transmitter body and the index mark on the transmitter shaft with the centerline of the crank.
(d)
Tighten the screws.
(e)
Install the electrical connector on the transmitter.
C. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Do this task: "Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B Depressurization" (Ref 27-11-00/201).
(2)
Close the access panel.
(3)
Do this task: Aileron Position Transmitter Test (AMM 31-24-31/501).

AILERON POSITION SENSOR - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure has one task. The task is a test of the aileron position transmitter.

2. Aileron Position Sensor Adjustment Test________________________________________
A. Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
Use one of these portable testers to select SUBFRAMES and WORDS to show the data for the flight data recorder. The Teledyne tester 2222786 or the Allied Signal tester 980-6301-002 can be used on airplanes installed with a flight data recorder (FDR) that records up to 64 wps. Use the Teledyne tester 2229738-1 on airplanes installed with FDRs that record up to 128 wps. Use the Teledyne tester 2229838-1 Mod E on airplanes installed with FDRs that record up to 256 wps.

NOTE: The tester cable consists of a cable assembly that is
____ approximately 60 inches long with a connector and a dust cap on each end. Use the -2 cable of the -1 kit when using the Teledyne testers 2222786. Use the -32 cable of the -30 kit (on airplanes with FDEP) or -35 cable of the -49 kit (on airplanes without FDEP) when using the Allied Signal tester 981-6301-002. Use the -60 cable of the -59 kit when using the Teledyne tester 2229738-X.
