6. Landing Warning System Test___________________________
A. General
(1)
Always test the landing warning system if maintenance is done on a component. The test is divided into two parts. Prepare to test steps must be completed before you do the tests.
(2)
In tests of the landing aural warn functions it is necessary to extend and retract the nose, right main, and left main landing gear. If airplane jacks are not available, it will be necessary to put the landing gear into a simulated position.
(3)
The first test uses airplane jacks. The second test uses simulated landing gear positions.
(4)
The warning horn that you hear in the tests that follow will be continuous.

(5) Do the first test, Airplane On Jacks, when a check of the position sensor switches on the landing gear is necessary. Do the second test, Simulated Landing Gear Position, when airplane jacks are not available. Also When it is not possible to put the airplane on jacks.
NOTE: When you lift the airplane until all wheels are off the
____ ground, the airplane is the AIR mode. This stops the operation of the logic inputs to the takeoff warning (intermittant horn) circuits. The AIR mode is necessary for tests of the landing warning system.
