 (3)  S 862-200Remove the removable media from the HHDLU.
 (4)  S 862-201Push the red power switch on the HHDLU to remove power.
 (5)  S 862-080Set the TEST--NORMAL switch to the NORMAL position.
 (6)  S 082-078Disconnect the Hand Held Download Unit from the flight data recorder.
 (7)  S 862-212Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201)

 FLIGHT DATA RECORDER SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has many tasks. The first task is the operational test of the flight data recorder system. The second task is the system test of the flight data recorder system. The system test task refers to other tasks which do tests of the inputs to the flight data recorder system.
 B.  The flight data recorder system has these components:
 (1)  
Flight Data Recorder

 (2)  
Accelerometer

 (3)  
Trip and Date Encoder

 (4)  
Flight recorder and Mach Airspeed Warning Test Module (test module)

 2.  Operational Test - Flight Data Recorder System______________________________________________
 A.  References

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the engines are off.

 C.  Procedure
 S 715-007
 (1)  Do this test of the activation of the flight data recorder by the TEST--NORMAL switch.
 (a)  
Make sure the OFF light on the test module is on.

 (b)  
Put the TEST--NORMAL switch to the TEST position.

 (c)  
Make sure the OFF light goes out.

 (d)  
Put the TEST--NORMAL switch to the NORMAL position.

 (e)  
Make sure the OFF light comes on.

 S 715-008
 (2) Do this test of the activation by the oil pressure switch:
 (a)  
Open the FLIGHT RECORDER DC circuit breaker on the P18 panel.

 (b)  
Put a jumper between pins 1 and 2 of the plug on the oil pressure switch, D752, on the left side of engine No. 1.

 (c)  
Close the FLIGHT RECORDER DC circuit breaker on the P18 panel.

 (d)  
Make sure the OFF light on the test module is off.

 (e)  
Open the FLIGHT RECORDER DC circuit breaker.

 (f)  
Put the oil pressure plug to its usual condition.

 (g)  
Close the FLIGHT RECORDER DC circuit breaker.

 (h)  
Make sure the OFF light on the test module comes on.

 (i)  
Do the test again for the plug on engine No. 2.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU OPEN THE AIR/GND RELAY AND LIGHTS CIRCUIT BREAKER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU GO TO THE AIR MODE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (3)  Do this test of the activation of the flight data recorder by the AIR/GND relay:
 (a)  
Open the AIR/GND RELAY AND LIGHTS circuit breaker on the P6-2 panel.

 (b)  
Make sure the OFF light goes out.

 (c)  
Close the AIR/GND RELAY AND LIGHTS circuit breaker.

 (d)  
Make sure the OFF light comes on.
