8 OPEN THE FLIGHT RECORDER
DC CIRCUIT BREAKER ON THE P18
PANEL. PUT THE NO. 2 ENGINE
OIL PRESSURE PLUG TO ITS USUAL
CONDITION. PUT THE FLIGHT
RECORDER "TEST-NORMAL" SWITCH
IN THE "NORMAL" POSITION.
THE SYSTEM IS OK.

OPEN THE FLIGHT RECORDER DC CIRCUIT BREAKER ON THE P18 PANEL. PUT THE NO. 1 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE PLUG TO ITS USUAL CONDITION. CONNECT A JUMPER FROM PINS 1 AND 2 OF THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH PLUG (D752, ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE) TO THE NO. 2 ENGINE. CLOSE THE FLIGHT RECORDER DC CIRCUIT BREAKER ON THE P18 PANEL.

DID THE "OFF" LIGHT GO OUT?

YES

68 REPLACE THE ENGINE ACCESSORY UNIT (78-34-06/401).
IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUES, EXAMINE THE CIRCUIT FROM OIL PRESSURE SWITCH NO. 2 TO THE FLIGHT RECORDER TEST MODULE (WDM 31-31-01; 78-32-21).
 REPAIR THE PROBLEMS THAT YOU FIND.

 2.  Master Caution Light Activation
_______________________________
 A.  When the engines start, the flight data recorder OFF light can come on intermittently and the MASTER CAUTION light may come on. This is the usual operation of the system. Push the MASTER CAUTION light to reset it before you continue the test of the flight data recorder system.

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
To erase nuisance FDAU failure codes do these steps:

 (a)  
Remove the protective cover from the ATE connector on the FDAU.

 (b)  
Ground pin 17 of the ATE connector.

 


 NOTE: Pin 2 on the ATE connector is ground.

 (c)  
Keep the ground on pin 17 for a minimum of 20 seconds.

 (d)  
Disconnect the ground from pin 17 of the ATE connector.

 (e)  
Push the READ button on the FDAU and examine the STATUS display to make sure the failure codes are erased.


 (3)  Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary
 (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 4.  Prepare for Trouble Shooting

 A.  Before starting the trouble shooting procedure, ensure that operating power is available, that the FLIGHT RECORDER AC and DC circuit breakers on panel P18 are closed, and that data inputs are operating. Check panel lights operation.

 FLIGHT DATA RECORDER SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has many tasks. The first task is the operational test of the flight data recorder system. The second task is the system test of the flight data recorder system. The system test task refers to other tasks which tests the inputs to the flight data recorder system.
 B.  These primary components make up the flight data recorder system:
 (1)  
Flight Data Recorder

 (2)  
Accelerometer

 (3)  
Flight Data Acquisition Unit (FDAU), also refered to as the Flight Data Management Unit (FDMU).

 (4)  
Flight Recorder and Mach Airspeed Warning Test Module (test module)
