1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the position sensor for the speed brake handle.
B. For these tasks, it is necessary to open the forward nose wheel well panel.

2. Speed Brake Handle Position Sensor Removal__________________________________________
A. General
(1) The position sensor for the speed brake handle is on the forward bracket of the drum mechanism and actuator assembly for the auto speed brake (Fig. 401).

Put the hydraulic switches A and B for flight control on the P5 overhead panel to the OFF position.

Open these circuit breakers:
(a) P18 Load Control Panel
1) FLIGHT RECORDER AC
2) FLIGHT RECORDER DC
3) FLIGHT RECORDER POSITION SENSOR
(3)
Make sure the speed brake handle is in the DOWN position.
(4)
Open the door, 3101L, for the forward nose wheel well.
(5)
Install the landing gear downlocks.

Write down the color identification of the sensor wires.
(b)
Remove the screws from the sensor terminals.
(c)
Remove the wires from the sensor.
(d)
Loosen the set screw on the crank arm.
