 procedures.
 1) Push and hold the air sensing switch (S1) on the E11
 landing gear logic shelf.
 CAUTION: CAREFULLY PULL THE TELEFLEX CABLE UNTIL THE AIR MODE_______
 SENSOR OPERATES. IF YOU DO NOT PULL THE CABLE
 CAREFULLY, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIR MODE
 SENSOR TARGET BRACKET.
 2) Disconnect the teleflex cable on the upper torsion link of
 the right main gear.
 a) Extend the teleflex cable.
 CAUTION: DO NOT USE FORCE TO PUT IN THE SHIELD. DECREASE THE_______
 SHIELD THICKNESS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR
 SWITCH.
 (c)  At one of the two main landing gear, put in an aluminum or
 copper deactuator shield to simulate one of the gear not
 extending.
 1) On airplanes with more than one downlock sensor, put an
 aluminum or copper deactuator shield between each downlock
 sensor switch and the steel actuator arm on the outboard
 side of the strut.
 (d)  Move the thrust levers full forward.
 (e)  Put the flap control lever in the 1 unit detent.
 1) Make sure the flaps extend to the 1 unit position.
 (f)  Move one of the thrust levers to the idle position.
 1) Make sure you hear the continuous warning horn sound.
 (g)  Continue to move the thrust lever forward until the horn stops.
 (h)  Remove the aluminum or copper deactuator shield from the
 downlock sensor switch.
 (i)  Put the airplane back into the GROUND MODE if it is applicable.
 1) Release the air sensing switch (S1) or compress the
 teleflex cable.
 (j)  Move the thrust levers to the idle position.
 (k)  Put the flap control lever in the UP detent.
 (l)  Move one of the thrust levers full forward.
 1) Make sure you hear the intermittent warning horn sound.
 (m)  Move the thrust lever back until the horn stops.

 (n)  
Set the FIRE test switch on the P8-1 ENG & APU fire control panel to FIRE. 1) Make sure you hear the bell sound.

 (o)  
Release the FIRE test switch.
 1) Make sure the bell sound stops.


 (p)  
Push the MACH AIRSPEED WARNING TEST switches on the aft overhead panel one at a time. 1) Make sure you hear the clacker sound while you push each

 test switch.

 (q)  
Push the PILOT CALL switch on the external power receptacle panel. 1) Make sure you hear the HI chime sound once.

 (r)  
Do a check of the SELCAL chime signal as follows: 1) Turn on the SELCAL and related radio systems (AMM 23-28-00/501). 2) Make sure you can speak to and hear a person in the control


 tower. 3) Have a control tower person set the airplane SELCAL code.
 NOTE: The airplane SELCAL code is on the placard found on
____ the pilots main instrument panel.
 NOTE: If the transmitting station is not available, make a
____ SELCAL coded transmission with a SELCAL ground station encoder. Make sure the transmission are approved.
 4) Have the person in the control tower transmit the SELCAL
 code. 5) Make sure you hear the chime sound. 6) Turn off the SELCAL and radio systems.
 F. Put the Airplane Back to its Usual Condition

 (1)  
Put all the switches, flaps, and thrust levers back to their usual positions.

 S 215-024

 (2)  
Make sure the aluminum or copper deactuator shield (slug) is removed from the down lock sensor switch of the landing gear.

 (3)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
