Use the -32 cable of the -30 kit (on airplanes with FDEP) or -35 cable of the -49 kit (on airplanes without FDEP) when using the AlliedSignal tester 981-6301-002. Use the -60 cable of the -59 kit when using the Teledyne tester 2229738- .

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

AIRPLANES WITH SYSTEM TEST PLUG INSTALLED ON THE P18 PANEL; Do these steps installed the portable tester:
(a)
Remove the shorting plug from the system test plug on the P18 panel.
(b)
Use the adapter cable to connect the portable tester to the system test plug on the P18 panel.
(c)
Set the switches on the portable tester to these positions:
SWITCH______ POSITION POWER ON WORD as given in the test SUBFRAME as given in the test INPUT ARINC INPUT DATA DATA PARAMETER SYNC B OCTAL DISPLAY 12 BIT

(3) AIRPLANES WITHOUT SYSTEM TEST PLUG INSTALLED IN THE P18 PANEL; Do these steps to install the portable tester:
(a)
Remove the cover from the ATE test connector on the front of the FDAU.
(b)
Connect the portable tester to the test connector.
(c)
Set the switches on the portable tester to these positions:
SWITCH______ POSITION UFDR RECORD WORD as given in the test SUBFRAME as given in the test DATA SOURCE DFDR FORMAT ARINC 717 DISC BLANK OFF SYNC BITS NORMAL

E. Position Sensor Test

Make sure the TEST--NORMAL switch for the flight data recorder is in the TEST position.

_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: "Rudder Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization" (Ref 27-21-00/201).

Move the rudder pedals to make sure the system is at the center.
