2. BEJ 001-112; Sundstrand Copy Recorder Procedure__________________________________
A. General
(1)
The copy recorder gives a fast and easy procedure to get the flight data from the Sundstrand tape based flight data recorder. When you use the copy recorder it is not necessary to remove the flight data recorder. It is also not necessary to remove the tape reel from the flight data recorder. Thirty minutes are necessary to make a full copy of the data. The copy recorder attaches to the ATE connector on the front of the flight data recorder.
(2)
When the copy recorder starts to make a copy, it writes a sound on the data tape. Then the copy recorder winds the data tape to the start. The data tape moves forward and the copy recorder writes all eight tracks at the same time. When the copy recorder completes the data tape, it winds the data tape to the position of the sound.
(3)
It is necessary for the copy recorder to have an input voltage of 115 VAC 400Hz. The airplane supplies this voltage through the connection between the copy recorder and the flight data recorder.
