S 864-008
(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right 1) AURAL WARN 2) LIGHTS
S 424-007
(2) Install the switch:
(a)
Put the switch assembly through the support bracket.
(b)
Install the retainer nut.
(c)
Put the lockwire on the nut.
(d)
Install the actuator arm on the switch shaft.
(e)
Set the actuator arm to the trial dimension shown in Figure 401, Sheet 2.
(f)
Install the retainer nut.
(g)
Install the locknut.

(h) Connect the color identified wires. 1) Make sure the wires go through the wire bundle clamps.
(3) S 824-009Adjust the upper and the lower switches: (a) Set dimension B correctly for the switch adjustment (see Table, Fig. 401).
CAUTION:_______ LOOSEN THE LOCKNUT. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WORM GEAR MECHANISM DURING THE SWITCH ADJUSTMENT.
(b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) Loosen but do not remove the locknut that holds the actuator arm to the switch.Loosen the worm gear lock screw.Turn the worm gear on the opposite side until the switch operates.Tighten the worm gear lock screw.Install the lockwire.Tighten the locknut. 1) Make sure the roller on the switch actuator shaft is flat in relation to the surface of the cam.
(4) S 864-010Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) P6 Load Control Center - Right 1) AURAL WARN 2) LIGHTS
(5) S 214-012Make sure the speed brakes are down.
(6) S 214-011Make sure the flaps are in the takeoff range.
(7) S 864-014Move one of the thrust levers full forward.

(8) Do this test for the upper switch (S546):
(a)
Move the stabilizer in the leading edge up (APL NOSE DN) direction.
(b)
Make sure you hear the warning horn when dimension B is in the correct range for the upper switch (Table 1, Fig 401).
(c)
Use the trammel bar to measure dimension B.

(9) Do this test for the lower switch:
(a)
Move the stabilizer in the leading edge down (APL NOSE UP) direction.
(b)
Make sure you hear the warning horn when dimension B is in the correct range for the lower switch (Table 1, Fig 401).
(c)
Use the trammel bar to measure dimension B.

(10) Do this task: "Takeoff Warning System Test" (Ref 31-26-00/501).
E. Put the Airplane Back to its Usual Condition

(1)
Move the thrust levers to the idle position.
(2)
Close the stabilizer trim access door.
(3)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
