 5.  Prepare for Input Parameter Test________________________________
 A. Special Tools and Equipment
 (1)  
One of these portable testers which can make a selection of SUPERFRAMES (if applicable), SUBFRAMES and WORDS to show flight data recorder system data. The Sundstrand 981-6301-002 can be used with flight data recorder (FDR) that record up to 64 wps. The Teledyne tester 2229738-7 is applicable to FDRs that record up to 256 wps.

Adapter Cable - Tester, Digital Flight Data Recorder System P/N A31007

 NOTE: The tester cable has a cable assembly approximately
____ 60 inches long with a connector and dust cap on each end. Use the -60 cable of the -59 cable kit when using the Teledyne Flight Line tester P/N 2223987-X. Use the -32 cable of the -30 cable kit (on airplanes with FDEP) or -35 cable of the -49 cable kit (on airplanes without FDEP) when using the Allied Signal Portable Tester 981-6301-002.

 (3)  Connect the portable tester to the flight data recorder system.
 (a)  
Remove the shorting plug from the system test plug on the P18 panel.

 (b)  
Use the adapter cable to connect the portable tester to the system test plug.
