(1)
If you will install a new control quadrant and quadrant shaft, remove the quadrant from the shaft (Fig. 402).
S 214-010
(2)
Do a check of the shear rivets on the quadrant shaft at the aileron input crank:
(a)
Make sure the witness hole in the aileron input crank and the quadrant shaft align correctly.
(b)
If the witness hole does not align correctly, replace the shear rivets (Ref 27-61-41/801).
S 424-011
(3)
Connect the spoiler control quadrant to the quadrant shaft:
(a)
Put the quadrant shaft through the opening in the ceiling of the wheel well.
(b)
Engage the quadrant shaft with the spoiler control quadrant.
S 434-012
(4) Attach the quadrant shaft to the ceiling of the wheel well:
NOTE: Make sure that the bearing housing is aligned with the
____ correct bolt holes in the wheel well ceiling.
(a)
Apply a pressure seal to the bearing housing and the ceiling of the wheel well (Ref 51-31-00/201).
(b)
Install the four bolts with the heads up through the ceiling of the wheel well to attach the bearing retainer.
(c)
Install the washers and nuts on the bolts.
(d)
Tighten the nuts to 20-25 pound-inches.

(5)
Install the quadrant shaft support bracket on the forward bulkhead of the wheel well:
(a)
Put the support bracket in its position.
(b)
Install the two bolts, washers and nuts to attach the support bracket.

(6)
Install the aileron spring cartridge:
