Prepare for the System Test

Install the protractor mount and the protractor on the captain's aileron control wheel.
(2)
Install the straightedge across the two control wheels.
(3)
Set the protractor on the control wheel to zero.
(4)
Remove the straightedge from the control wheels.

Do the System Test of the Spoiler Control System

(1) Do the test with the speed brake lever in the DOWN position:
NOTE: Measure the positions of the captain's aileron control wheel
____ from the neutral position during this test.
(a) Make sure the aileron system is in the neutral position.
NOTE: The ailerons are in the neutral position when you can
____ easily install the rig pin A/S-4 in the aileron bus drum.
1) Remove the rig pin.
(b)
Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.
(c)
Turn the captain's aileron control wheel clockwise until the spoiler No. 7 starts to move up. 1) Make sure the spoiler No. 7 starts to move up when the
control wheel is 11 |1 degrees clockwise.
(d)
Continue to turn the control wheel to the 87 degrees clockwise position: 1) Make sure the spoiler No. 7 is up 38 |2 degrees. 2) Make sure that the spoilers No. 2 and 3 are in the fully
down position.
(e)
Turn the control wheel counterclockwise until the spoiler No. 7 starts to move down. 1) Make sure the spoiler starts to move down when the control
wheel is a minimum of 70 degrees clockwise.
(f)
Continue to turn the control wheel counterclockwise until the spoiler No. 7 is in the fully down position. 1) Make sure the spoiler is in the fully down position when
the control wheel is 5 |3 degrees clockwise.
