FLAP POSITION TRANSMITTER GEARBOX - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the gearbox for the flap position transmitter. This procedure is applicable to the left and the right gearboxes.
B. It is not necessary to remove the flap position transmitter to remove the gearbox.

Procedure
S 864-002
(1)
Supply the hydraulic system B power (Ref 27-51-00/201).

(2)
Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps.
(3)
Remove the system B hydraulic power (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Disconnect the torque tubes from the gearbox:
(a)
Remove the three screws from the two coupling sleeves.

CAUTION: INSTALL A SUPPORT TO HOLD THE TORQUE TUBES WHILE THEY ARE
_______ NOT CONNECTED. THE TORQUE TUBES CAN BE DAMAGED.
(b) Move the coupling sleeves off the couplings on the gearbox.

Remove the gearbox:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the flap position transmitter.
(b)
Remove the four bolts that attach the gearbox to the rear spar of the wing.
(c)
Remove the gearbox from the airplane.
