Remove the rig pins A/S-14, S/B-2, and A/S-8 thru A/S-11.

 (5)  
Adjust the input rod for the ratio changer (Fig. 503):

 (a)  
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.

 (b)  
Make sure the aileron control system is in the neutral position.

 (c)  
Install the rig pin A/S-14 in the spoiler mixer.

 (d)  
Install the rig pin S/B-2 in the ratio changer.

 (e)  
Make sure that you can easily install the rig pin A/S-3 in the lower lever of the spoiler control quadrant.

 (f)  
If you cannot easily install the rig pin, adjust the input rod:


 1)  Remove the bolt that connects the input rod from the lever at the spoiler control quadrant.

 2) Install the rig pin A/S-3.
 3) Loosen the checknut on the input rod.
 4) Adjust the rod end until you can install the bolt to attach

 the input rod.
 WARNING: IF THE BOLT THAT CONNECTS THE RATIO CHANGER INPUT ROD
_______ TO THE AFT AILERON CONTROL QUADRANT IS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, THIS LINKAGE CAN DISCONNECT. IF THIS OCCURS SPEED BRAKE INPUT CAN CAUSE A LARGE ASYMMETRIC ROLL COMMAND. THIS COULD PREVENT CONTINUED SAFE FLIGHT AND LANDING.
 5) Install the bolt with the head up.
 6) Install the washer, nut and cotter pin on the bolt.
 7) Tighten the checknut on the input rod.

 (g)  Remove the rig pins A/S-3, A/S-14, and S/B-2.

 (6)  
Adjust the clearance between the spoilers and the flaps:

 (a)  
Supply the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (b)  
Supply the systems A and B hydraulic power (Ref 27-61-00/201).

 (c)  
Move the speed brake lever to the FLIGHT DETENT position to lift the spoilers.

 (d)  
Move the flap control lever to the UP position to fully retract the trailing edge flaps.

 (e)  
Remove the systems A and B hydraulic power (Ref 27-61-00/201).

 (f)  
Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.

 (g)  
Push on the top surface of the spoiler panel with your hand until the actuator piston is fully retracted.

 (h)  
Make sure the clearance between the spoilers and the flaps is


 0.03 to 0.13 inch at the nearest point (Fig. 506).
 (i)  If the clearance between the spoiler and the flap is not in the tolerance, adjust the spoiler: 1) Supply the systems A and B hydraulic power
 (Ref 27-61-00/201).
 WARNING: DO NOT PUT A PART OF YOUR BODY BETWEEN THE SPOILER
_______ AND THE WING UNLESS YOU REMOVE THE HYDRAULIC POWER. THE SPOILERS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 2)  Lift the spoiler or extend the flaps to get access to the spoiler actuator: a) Move the speed brake lever to the UP position to lift
