(1)
Make sure the valve lever and the valve slide on the control valve move smoothly through the full range of travel.
S 424-006
(2)
Install the control valve (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the O-rings and reducers in the hydraulic ports on the control valve: 1) Remove the caps from the ports in the control valve. 2) Apply a thin layer of the hydraulic fluid or Skydrol
Assembly Lube on the O-rings. 3) Install the O-rings and the reducers in the five hydraulic ports.
(b)
Make sure the hydraulic pressure in system A is released.
(c)
Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines.
(d)
Put the valve in its position on the bracket.
(e)
Install the connections for the five hydraulic tubes on the control valve.
(f)
Install the four bolts and washers that attach the control valve.

(g) (h) Make sure the heads of the two bolts in the valve handle are up.Tighten the connections for the five hydraulic tubes.
(3) S 864-007Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN detent.
(4) S 484-008Install the rig pin S/B-1 in the speed brake forward drum.
(5) S 484-009Install the rigging tool on the control valve to make sure the dimension A is 0.70 |0.01 inch.
(6) S 434-010Connect the control rod to the control valve: (a) Install the bolt with the head up. 1) If you cannot easily install the bolt, adjust the control rod: a) Loosen the checknut on the control rod. b) Adjust the length of the control rod until you can install the bolt. c) Apply a layer of the grease to the threads of the rod end. d) Make sure you can see the threads of the rod end through the inspection hole in the control rod. e) Tighten the checknut. (b) Install the washer, nut and cotter pin on the bolt.
(7) S 084-011Remove the rigging tool from the control valve.
(8) S 084-012Remove the rig pin from the speed brake forward drum.
(9) S 724-013Do the functional test of the control valve (Ref 27-62-41/501).
