 (6)  
Adjust the actuator input arm on the spoiler No. 2 or 3 (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Install the protractor stand and the control surface protractor on the spoiler.


 NOTE: You can use a hand held protractor on the spoiler.

 (b)  Adjust the control surface protractor to zero:
 1)  Turn the captain's control wheel fully clockwise to make sure the spoilers No. 2 and 3 are in the fully retracted position.
 2)  Adjust the protractor to zero.
 (c)
Turn the control wheel to 50 |5 degrees counterclockwise.

 (d)
Turn the control wheel clockwise to the neutral position.


 1)  Make sure the spoilers No. 2 and 3 are in the fully retracted position when the control wheel is 5 |3 degrees counterclockwise from the neutral position.
 2)  Make sure the clearance between the spoiler and the flap is in the tolerance.
 (e)  Adjust the input arm if the spoilers do not operate in the limit: 1) Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit detent to extend
 the flaps. 2) Hold the control wheel 11 |1 degrees counterclockwise from
 the neutral position. 3) Loosen the checknut on the input arm. 4) Turn the adjustment screw until the applicable spoiler
 starts to move up from the fully retracted position. 5) Move the flap control lever to the UP detent to retract the trailing edge flaps. 6) Turn the aileron control wheel and make sure the spoilers operate in the limits. 7) Tighten the checknut on the input arm to 30-40 pound-inches. 8) Install the lockwire on the checknut.

 (7)  
Adjust the actuator input arm on the spoiler No. 6 or 7:

 (a)  
Install the protractor stand and the control surface protractor on the spoiler.

 1)  Turn the captain's control wheel fully counterclockwise to make sure the spoilers No. 6 and 7 are in the fully retracted position.
 2)  Adjust the protractor to zero.
 (b)  Turn the control wheel to 50 |5 degrees clockwise.

 (c)  
Turn the control wheel counterclockwise to the neutral position. 1) Make sure the spoilers No. 6 and 7 are in the fully

 retracted position when the control wheel is 5 |3 degrees clockwise from the neutral position. 2) Make sure the clearance between the spoiler and the flap is in the tolerance.

 (d)  
Adjust the input arm if the spoilers do not operate in the limit: 1) Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit detent to extend


 the flaps.

 H. Do a Check of the Spoiler Actuator Fully Extended

Move the speed brake lever to the UP position.

 (2)
Turn the captain's aileron control wheel to the neutral position.

 (a)  
Make sure the spoiler No. 2 is up 39 |3 degrees.

 (b)  
Make sure the spoiler No. 6 is up the same as the spoiler No. 2 in the limit of |2 degrees.

 (c)  
Make sure the spoiler No. 6 is up a minimum of 36 degrees.

 (d)  
Make sure the spoiler No. 3 aligns with the spoiler No. 2 in the limit of |0.25 inch.
