 2)  If the pointer on the speed brake lever does not align with the center of the DOWN detent, adjust the position of the indicator plate: a) Loosen the screws that attach the indicator plate to
 the control stand.
 b)  Move the indicator plate until the center of the DOWN position aligns with the indicator on the speed brake lever.
 c) Tighten the screws on the indicator plate. 3) Disconnect the detent spring from the cam roller lever arm. 4) Install the rig pin S/B-1 in the forward drum quadrant. 5) Loosen the bolts on the bracket for the cam roller lever
 arm. 6) Adjust the bracket until the roller on the lever arm aligns
 with the index mark on the detent cam. 7) Tighten the bolts on the bracket. 8) Connect the detent spring to the cam roller lever arm. 9) Remove the rig pin S/B-1. 10) Move the speed brake lever aft until the roller is in the
 ARMED detent on the cam. 11) Make sure the indicator on the control lever aligns with the ARMED indicator on the control stand.

 12) If the indicator does not align, adjust the indicator plate with the speed brake lever down again. 13) Move the speed brake lever aft until the roller is in the FLIGHT detent on the cam. 14) Make sure the indicator on the speed brake lever aligns with the FLIGHT DETENT indicator on the control stand.
 15) If the indicators do not align, adjust the position of the indicator plate with the speed brake lever in the DOWN position again.
 16) If the control lever travel is not in the limits, examine the adjustment of the speed brake full travel stop on the spoiler ratio change (Fig. 503): a) Adjust the stop until the speed brake travel is a
 minimum of 48 degrees.

 (2)  
Adjust the speed brake control cables - SBA and SBB:

 (a)  
Move the speed brake lever through one full cycle.

 (b)  
Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.

 (c)  
Install the rig pin S/B-1 in the forward drum (Fig. 502).

 (d)  
Make sure you can easily install the rig pin S/B-2 in the input quadrant for the speed brake (Fig. 503).

 (e)  
Make sure the tension in the cables SBA and SBB is in the limit of 15 pounds of the tension shown in Fig. 501.

 (f)  
Make sure the tension in the cables SBA and SBB is
 approximately the same.


 (g)  
Adjust the cables if you installed new SBA or SBB cables:


 1)  Adjust the tension in the cables to two times the tension shown in Fig. 501.
 NOTE: The turnbuckles are in the lower nose compartment.

 2) Remove the rig pins S/B-1 and S/B-2. 3) Move the speed brake lever through its full travel 20 times. 4) Install the rig pins S/B-1 and S/B-2.
 (h)  If the tension in the cables is not in the limits or you installed new cables, adjust the tension in the cables: 1) Remove the locking clips from the turnbuckles.
