1  TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT CABLE TENSION, PERMIT THE AIRFRAME TEMPERATURE TO STABILIZE (|5 DEGREES) FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE HOUR. 
2 FOR A PERIODIC ADJUSTMENT WITHOUT A DISCREPANCY REPORT, THE CABLE TENSION LIMITS ARE +15/-30 POUNDS FROM THE VALUES IN THE TABLE I. FOR CABLE TENSION CHECKS AFTER A DISCREPANCY REPORT, THE LIMITS ARE |15 POUNDS FROM THE VALUES IN THE TABLE. WHENEVER YOU ADJUST THE TENSION OF THE CABLE, YOU MUST GET THE VALUES IN THE TABLE.

 (b)  
Disconnect the turnbuckles in the lower nose compartment.
 (c)  
Remove the cables from the spoiler control quadrant.
 (d)  
Install a tag on the cables for identification during the installation.

 (2)  
Remove the spoiler control quadrant (Fig. 402):
 (a)  
Remove the two bolts that attach the spoiler control quadrant to the quadrant shaft.
 (b)  
Remove the bolt that attaches the input rod for the ratio changer to the upper control crank.
 (c)  
Remove the bolt that attaches the aileron spring cartridge to the aileron input crank.
 (d)  
Remove the two bolts that attach the quadrant shaft support bracket to the forward bulkhead.
 (e)  
Remove the four bolts that attach the bearing retainer to the wheel well ceiling.
 (f)  
Break the pressure seal between the quadrant shaft and the wheel well ceiling.
 (g)  
Disconnect the quadrant shaft from the spoiler control quadrant.
 (h)  
Lower the quadrant shaft from the wheel well ceiling and remove it from the airplane.
 (i)  
Remove the spoiler control quadrant from the airplane.
