 F.  Procedure
 S 984-014
 (1)  
Make sure the ratio changer moves smoothly.

 S 024-029

 (2)  
Put the rod guard on the ratio changer input rod.

 S 424-015

 (3)  
Install the ratio changer (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Put the ratio changer in the wheel well.

 (b)  
Attach the cable SBA to the speed brake input quadrant.

 (c)  
Put the ratio changer in its position on the structure.

 (d)  
Install the three mounting bushings: 1) Apply a thin layer of the grease between the mounting bushings and the mounting bearings.


 2)  Install the mounting bushings with the shoulders up or inboard.
 NOTE: Make sure the mounting bushings can move freely in
____ the mounting bearings.
 (e)  Install the three bolts to attach the ratio changer: 1) Move the rod guard if it is necessary to get access to the
 mounting bolts. 2) Install the three bolts with their heads up or inboard. 3) Install the washers and the nuts. 4) Tighten the nut to 50-70 pound-inches.

 (4)  
Install the rod guard on the ratio changer:

 (a)  
Move the rod guard to its position on the ratio changer.

 (b)  
Install the four bolts and washers.

 (5)  
Attach the cable SBB to the speed brake input quadrant.

 (6)  
Attach the right and the left spoiler control cables WSA1, WSA2, WSB1 AND WSB2, to the spoiler output quadrant.

 (a)  
Turn the quadrant if it is necessary to attach the cables and the cable retainers.

 (7)  
Install the spoiler mixer (Ref 27-61-21/401).

 NOTE: It is not necessary to adjust the output cam of the spoiler

 mixer at this time.

 (8)  
Adjust the speed brake control cables SBA and SBB (Fig. 403):

 (a)  
Install the rig pins S/B-1 and S/B-2 (Figs. 401 and 404).

 (b)  
Remove the cable clamps from the cables SBA and SBB.

 (c)  
Adjust the tension in the cables (Fig. 403).

 (d)  
Make sure the pressure seals in the left main wheel well align with the cables. 1) If the seals do not align with the cables, adjust the seal

 retainers.

 (e)  
Remove the rig pins S/B-1 and S/B-2.


 S 824-021
 (9)  
Make sure the speed brake system is adjusted correctly:

 (a)  
Move the speed brake lever through one full cycle.

 (b)  
Install the rig pins S/B-1 and S/B-2.

 (c)  
Make sure the tension in the cables SBA and SBB is in the limit in the table on Fig. 403.
