Disconnect the aft end of the adjustable control rod for the position transmitter from the spoiler (Ref 22-11-27/401).
(d)
Remove the four hinge bolts.
(e)
Remove the spoiler from the airplane.
(f)
Remove the bearings from the inboard and outboard hinge fittings.

If you will install used bolts and bushings in the hinges, examine the parts for worn areas (Ref 27-61-11/601).

If you will install used bushings to attach the actuator, examine the parts for worn areas (Ref 27-61-51/601).

If you will install a spoiler made of a different material than the spoiler you removed, you must change the airplane weight and balance data.

Install the flight spoiler:
(a)
Install the bearings in the inboard and outboard hinge fittings.
(b)
Put the spoiler in its position on the airplane.

Install the two center hinge bolts: 1) Install the bolts in the hinge fitting with the heads as
shown in Fig. 401. 2) Install the washers and nuts on the bolts. 3) Tighten the nuts to 240-350 pound-inches. 4) Install the cotter pins in the nuts.
(d)
Install the inboard and outboard hinge bolts:
1) Install the spacer on each side of the bearing.
NOTE: Make sure the flanged bushings are installed in the
____
hinge fitting.
2) Put the bearing in its position and align the clevis.
3) Install the bolts in the hinges with their heads outboard.
4) Install the washers and the nuts on the bolts.
5) Tighten the nuts to 100-140 pound-inches.
6) Install the cotter pins in the nuts.
