AUTOSLAT NO. 1 AC AUTOSLAT NO. 2 AC

Supply the systems A and B hydraulic power (Ref 27-62-00/201).

Make sure the ANTISKID switch on the center instrument panel is in the ON position.

Do the Functional Test of the Speed Brake Forward Drum and Lever Brake

(1)
Do a test of the friction in the speed brake lever:
(a)
Move the FLT CONTROL SPOILER A and B switches to the OFF position.
(b)
Move the speed brake lever through one or more full cycles. 1) Make sure the speed brake lever moves smoothly.

2) Make sure the speed brake lever does not touch the control stand.
(c) Use the spring scale to measure the force necessary to move the speed brake lever: 1) Make sure the force necessary to move the speed brake lever
from the DOWN to the FLIGHT detent is not more than
20 pounds.
2) Make sure the force necessary to move the speed brake lever from the FLIGHT detent to the UP position is not more than 28 pounds.
3) Make sure the force necessary to move the speed brake lever from the UP position to the FLIGHT detent is not more than 28 pounds.
4) Make sure the force necessary to move the speed brake lever from the FLIGHT to the DOWN detent is not more than 20 pounds.
(d) Move the FLT CONTROL SPOILER A and B switches to the ON position.

(2) Do a test of the speed brake lever actuator:
NOTE: During this test you use the Antiskid Control Unit to give
____ wheel speed signals to the automatic speed brake system. The antiskid control unit is installed in the electronics compartment.
The weight of the airplane must be on the landing gear or the right main landing gear must be compressed a minimum of 5/inches during this test.
(a)
Make sure the parking brake is released.
(b)
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.
(c)
AIRPLANES WITH SPEED BRAKE TEST SWITCHES; Do a test of the SPEED BRAKE TEST switches: 1) Push the SPEED BRAKE TEST switch 3 to retract the speed
brake lever actuator.
2) Move the speed brake lever from the DOWN to the ARMED detent.
3) Make sure the SPEED BRAKE ARMED light on the center panel is ON.
4) Push the SPEED BRAKE TEST switch 1 to actuate the speed brake indicator test. a) Make sure the SPEED BRAKE ARMED light is not on. b) Make sure the SPEED BRAKE DO NOT ARM light is on.
5) Operate the speed brake indicator test again with the SPEED BRAKE TEST switches 2 and 3.
6) Move the LIGHTS switch on the P2-1 panel to the DIM position. a) Make sure the intensity of the SPEED BRAKE ARMED light
decreases.
